A self-portrait I made in the studio using a speedlight and a long exposure.

Evan Frilingos is a multimedia journalism student at the University of Georgia and a photographer based in Atlanta and Athens, Georgia. His work aims to elevate the stories and communities of the people and organizations he photographs.
He was initially inspired by the visuals in publications like National Geographic, The New York Times, and the Associated Press, which led him to pursue photojournalism at UGA. He will complete a master's degree in journalism, as he one day hopes to teach students how to use a camera to tell important, impactful stories.
Evan aspires to freelance for editorial and news outlets while incorporating his writing skills to create long-form multimedia projects. He is a Spanish speaker and wants to use his passion for learning languages to connect with people around the world. He currently works with organizations at home and abroad, focusing on mission-forward visuals that inspire others to get involved.
He is a member of the National Press Photographers Association and volunteers with the NPPA's annual Best of Photojournalism competition.
Evan also works for the Terry College of Business as a marketing photographer and as a photo contributor for the Athens newspaper, The Red and Black.
He is available to assist and for freelance work.

Current projects:
Evan will be going to Rwanda to document Kigali's and the Rwandan people's reconciliation and story of transformation after the genocide 30 years ago. The project will be a visual restorative narrative piece, and it will look to be published/exhibited once completed.
He is also working on a portrait series documenting the stories and experiences of racial and ethnic minority students at UGA, a predominantly white institution that has ended DEI programs. Once completed, it will look to be published/exhibited.
